Stories in the Key of Me
Michael C. Keith
In the tradition of the of the classic short stories of Lydia Davis, Kurt Vonnegut, and Joy Williams, this singular collection explores the full range of human experience and behavior . . . both good and bad. At once compelling and provocative, Keith’s writing takes the reader to places that only a truly vivid and original imagination could. Frequently disquieting in theme and plot, the stories within these covers invariably contain meaningful truths and lessons, and just as frequently do so in an uproariously humorous and deeply compassionate manner.
During his thirty years as an academic, Michael distinguished himself as the author/coauthor of over two-dozen books on media subjects, including an international bestseller. For his prolific efforts, he received numerous accolades, among them the Broadcast Education Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Scholarship, the International Radio and Television Society’s Frank Stanton Fellow Award, and The University of Rhode Island’s Achievement in the Humanities Award. In 2002, Algonquin Books published his critically acclaimed memoir, The Next Better Place. In the years that followed, Michael wrote hundreds of short stories, many of which appear in his dozen published collections. Stories in the Key of Me is the culmination of his work to date in the field of fiction. Says, Michael, “Because of what the book means to me, I’m especially happy to see it in the hands of the caring and talented people at Regal House Publishing.”
We are so pleased that Michael is launching his latest collection of short stories here on Saturday, April 27 between 2PM and 4PM.
